I design and build these tiny home sheds with cabin design plans that allow for future conversion into a full home. Take detailed pictures, such as this one showing the foundation, footings, rebar, bolts, and R-10 insulation board, which can be used to obtain permits later. The structures are built with high walls making it easy to add on to each side.

RESIDENTIAL SHED WITH LOFT
I built one just like this tiny home shed in my backyard in Puyallup, WA. Most areas allow you to construct a shed 200 square feet or under without needing a permit. This shed measures 199.95 square feet. The loft doesn’t count as square footage unless it is 70 square feet with a ceiling height of 7 feet. In Puyallup, I could have built this cabin design plans as tall as 28 feet—wow!
